Training Opportunities and Sustainable Jobs

General

All of our management and supervisory staff have either SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) and First Aid. Our senior management are all qualified to advanced levels, with most having diploma level qualifications.

We carefully consider that anyone wishing to work for NRT is fully aware of the importance of working safely and without risks to health.

We have a purposeful and forward-thinking approach to the up-skilling of our workforce. All contractors and self-employed persons working for NRT receive equal levels of information, instruction and training. This means we maintain consistent levels of training and development for everyone.

When we provide training, we ask our employees for feedback to ensure training is relevant and effective. The majority of our training is moderated and assessed with supporting reports produced by the Health and Safety Manager.

We regularly assess accreditations and levels of training required. If necessary, we use specialist outsourced trainers to support us. However, the majority of our training is provided in-house, which has proved highly effective.

Apprentices

The future of construction is dependent on training opportunities and sustainable jobs. NRT believes apprenticeships form a key part of this.

We are committed to identifying the right development opportunities for interested apprentices. However, we only employ suitable candidates if we believe there is enough diversity of training and carpentry skills to be gained from each specific project.

We currently have two apprenticeships whom we are supporting towards their Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations (Construction) – Site Carpentry. For further details on apprenticeships, please contact info@nrtcarpentry.co.uk
